Jo Bird Jewelry artist Sarah Jo Brockman was raised in the Pacific Northwest by two artists who valued creativity and doing what you love. Motivated by her artistic upbringing and childhood nickname ‘Jo Bird,’ Sarah began making jewelry as a young teenager and launched her professional line in 2006. Inspired by her nickname, Sarah designs in a way that represents appreciation for your roots and discovery of inner beauty through personal style.

Sarah’s first designs featured mother of pearl and freshwater pearls, as she was attracted to the beachy quality of these materials. As her style evolves, Sarah continues to find great inspiration in creating new jewelry concepts using age-old Czech glass beads, gemstones and other all natural materials.

Sarah’s creative inspiration stems from a layered life full of movement. A mother of two little ones, Sarah balances her time passionately working in her Bellingham home studio with family life and her outdoor passions - climbing with her husband in the southwest desert, running miles of mountain trails in Northwest WA and gardening in the backyard. If she's not creating jewelry, you'll find her outside - often with a baby on the back or behind a jogger on the trail. Sarah knows that active women like her appreciate fashion that is flattering, yet practical. Active lifestyles will take us from the yoga mat to the executive desk, from the bike to an evening out. We want jewelry that looks great with tights and a puffy or skinny jeans and high shaft leather boots. Your life is dynamic, and Sarah loves to create jewelry to add a signature sparkle to your most sophisticated and your most rugged life experiences.
